Tournament (Buchholz)
Buchholz satranç terimi görseli

Buchholz is a tie-break method calculated by looking at the total points scored by the opponents a player has faced.

What Does It Show?

  • It reflects whether you have played against stronger opponents.
  • It is used to rank players who have the same score.
  • It is very common in Swiss-system tournaments.

If a player's Buchholz is high, it can be interpreted that they scored their points against a tougher field.
