Sonneborn-Berger

Sonneborn-Berger is a tie-break method calculated by counting the full scores of the opponents you beat and half the scores of the opponents you drew against.
Why Is It Important?
- It gives greater value to results achieved against strong opponents.
- It is commonly used in the round-robin format.
- It is a more refined measure than simply counting wins.
This system shows that, especially in the race for the top places, it also matters against whom you scored points.
